1. What we collect
Email address and authentication data collected at account creation, plus translation request logs (no images).
2. What we do not collect
Your manga images. The lightweight recognition model runs locally in your browser; images never leave your device. Only recognized text passes through server-side optimization before being sent to the translation service.
3. Third-party services
Resend: email delivery for notifications and verification codes. Google: third-party sign-in — we only receive a Google-verified email and account identifier; we never see your Google password. Creem: subscription payment processing — payment details are collected by Creem; we do not touch or store your full card number.
4. Your rights
Email [email protected] at any time to delete your account, export your data, or opt out of email notifications.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is protected by industry-standard security measures, including encrypted transmission and encrypted storage of sensitive fields.
6. Browser extension
If you use the Mangaluna browser extension, image recognition (OCR) runs locally on your device inside a hidden extension document; your images are not uploaded to our servers. Only the recognized text and its on-image coordinates are sent to mangaluna.com for translation. The extension requests access to web pages (<all_urls>) only to detect images and display translation overlays — it does not track your browsing history. Your enabled/auto-translate switches and target-language choice are stored locally via chrome.storage. Sign-in is handled by Google and payments by Creem, each under its own privacy policy; image content is never sold or used for advertising. When you uninstall the extension, you may voluntarily submit a reason and optional comment on a feedback page; that feedback is stored linked to your device/account identifiers and used only to improve the product.
7. Device identifiers and anti-abuse
When you use the extension while signed out, we generate a random device ID on your device and compute a non-identifying device fingerprint locally — an irreversible hash of generic device and browser characteristics — and send it with translation requests. This information is used only to count free-trial pages and to prevent repeated quota resets or service abuse; it is not linked to your identity and is not used for cross-site tracking. The device ID can be removed by clearing extension data. After you sign in, trial progress is merged into your account and the device fingerprint is no longer used for quota decisions.
