Which manga languages are supported?
Mangaluna auto-translates Japanese, English and Traditional Chinese manga into Simplified Chinese, and supports English as a target language too. The most common use cases are Japanese manga to Chinese, English manga to Chinese, and Traditional Chinese to Simplified. Recognition covers Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese and 46 Latin-script languages — 50 source languages in total. More target languages are being added. Korean is not currently supported.
How do I translate a whole-volume ZIP or CBZ manga?
Just drag a ZIP or CBZ file into the Mangaluna reader — no unzipping, no upload. The lightweight text recognition model recognizes each page's text in your browser, then the AI translation engine renders the translation back into the original speech bubbles. You can either batch-translate the whole volume, or enable page-flip auto-translation to read page by page. Whole-volume translation supports Japanese, English and Traditional Chinese manga in either ZIP or CBZ.
How accurate is the translation?
Mangaluna uses an AI translation model with automatic typesetting. On clean scans or digital Japanese manga, dialogue and narration translate far better than traditional machine translation. Vertical and horizontal bubble-fit layout puts the translation back into the original bubble position. Slang, puns, onomatopoeia and credit pages may still need human review — we recommend treating the translation as a reading aid, not a replacement for the original.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The lightweight text recognition model runs entirely in your browser; images never leave your device. Only the recognized text is sent to the translation service — your manga content stays fully private and is not stored after translation completes. You can try the whole flow for 30 minutes without even signing up.
